Web hook up

Think of them as one of those fancy pneumatic tube things you used to love sending money into at a bank and watch disappear, but instead of never seeing your money again, you're actually sending messages into Discord from another platform.

By creating a webhook endpoint in your server, you'll generate a Webhook URL that you can drop into a number of different other services to link the two.

In addition to the URL, you have some more Git Hub-specific options to choose from. Click the last "Add webhook" button beneath the event notifications customization option, and you're all set!

Pushing any updates in the repo (including editing the readme file) will show up in your text channel: And you're all set!

This uses many less API requests overall, allowing you to build more robust apps, and update your app instantly after a webhook is received.

It's less work, less hassle, and you'll probably even receive it sooner than if you were asking for it every couple of minutes. When installing your Slack app, the installer may choose their own account as the webhook's target.Messages will automatically route to that user's direct message conversation with themselves.Webhooks are a useful tool for apps that want to execute code after a specific event happens on a shop, for example, after a customer creates a cart on the storefront, or a merchant creates a new product in their admin.Instead of telling your app to make an API call every X number of minutes to check if a specific event has occured on a shop, you can register webhooks, which send an HTTP POST request from the shop telling your app that the event has occurred.
