Garmin updating problems

turned out okay, that was the day that Mary was late bringing in the food.

I also am going to call Garmin, mean to do it today, but had a lot of things to take care of here at home.

Since they're on the other side of the world to us there may be a delay between registering and being able to access anything. I first unstalled the maps using Garmin Express and was curious as to why I had Finland but not France.

I used Map Install to put almost the full mapset on and that's when it bricked.

When I turn my computer back on, it asked me to connect the device to continue. Here is how to reset the unit Shut the unit down all the way. It shoudl go to a screen that asks you to reset all user data. If my answer did not work, please wait to rate the answer and instead send me a reply so that I can continue to assist you as needed.

Now my laptop will not reconnect to gps unit because it is stuck at "Loading Maps .." Please help Welcome to Just My name is Dustin and I am here to help! Now put your fingertip on the lower right hand corner of the touchscreen and keep it there.

At some point Garmin decided that the expense of licensing the ability to play .mp3 files was not profitable. It has been said that the file must be PCM, 44.100 k HZ., and 16 bits, Mono and that a stereo wav file will not work.

Even though it is not documented by Garmin, files can be used in place of .mp3 files. To use files, a particular version of must be in the same folder as POI Loader. If you have a stereo wav, there is a portable, freeware software package that will convert it to mono.

I got this Nuvi 50 just a few months ago and have done the updates with the my.webservice without any problems, did it tonight for a software (not maps) update and all went well. fer instance, going from Enterprise Rent Acar in Elkins, WV headed back to Seneca Rocks, the damn thing took us thru a residential area in Elkins.... then realized what it had done and ignored that on the way back.Turned out to be a country road that turned into gravel about 10 miles into the woods....My Garmin nuvi 255WT is stuck at "Loading Maps ..." I was updating my unit using Garmin Express. If my answer helped, please click one of the smiley faces to rate the solution, and then click the green submit button to rate the answer. Also, thsi may be the last message I send for this evening, but I will definitely continue with your tommorow. Hello again Felix, my apologies for the delay in getting back to you.. By chance, was that where the maps were being updated? The updates was almost completed when my laptop went to sleep mode. We can still communicate after rating, as rating does not end the conversation. I didnt see your reply last night, and I was at the end of a 16 hour shift so went to bed shortly afterwords. For good measure, if you do have an sd card in your garmin..
